Our platform team is building the future of 1Password by empowering the development of ambitious new features. We focus on creating building blocks to enable exciting features for our customers. Specifically, we are evolving our Confidential Computing platform comprising several services and a robust developer tool-chain, and a public key infrastructure. Our trust platforms unlock 1Password’s ability to offer impactful features while remaining on the leading edge of security and user data privacy. This is a remote opportunity within Canada or the US. This position will be for 4 months - September to December 2026. What you can expect: Write Rust and Go code with a focus on reliability, quality and durability Contribute to feature design, development and release Contribute to documenting solutions and new designs Contribute to feature design, documentation, implementation, and releasing code to production Collaborate with team members by providing and receiving timely feedback on code submissions and design docs Uphold and contribute to team processes Remain curious and seek opportunities to expand and deepen your technical knowledge and leadership skills What we're looking for: Confidence: A willingness to take on new challenges, and see them through to completion. Our approach to remote work We believe in the power of remote work, but recognize that in-person connection is important to help us achieve our mission. While we are a remote-first company, travel for in-person engagement is a part of most roles. Frequency will depend on role and responsibilities, and may include, but is not limited to: annual department-wide offsites, team meetings, and customer/industry events. How we’re using AI today Our Engineering, Product, and Design teams are thoughtfully integrating AI across the full software and product development lifecycle to move faster without sacrificing quality or security. In practice, that looks like engineers using AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate reviews and catch bugs earlier, product managers synthesizing user research at scale, and designers rapidly prototyping and iterating with AI-generated mockups. We approach AI the same way we approach security: with clear principles, human accountability at every consequential decision point, and rigorous evaluation before anything ships to customers.
