A Diesel Technician will have a strong understanding and will demonstrate the ability to work on diesel and gas powered engines. This individual will be extremely familiar with repairing and rebuilding engines, transmissions, drive line and differentials. Our Diesel Mechanics are responsible for providing dependable truck service in a timely manner while maintaining exceptional customer service. Responsibilities Examine assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended Make accurate use of the multi-point inspection form on each vehicle Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards Test‑drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed, providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and schools to continuously expand your knowledge of new technology Perform all levels of diagnosis and repair on vehicles Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Diesel Engine Certified (preferred) ASE Certification or graduation from an associate degree program in auto maintenance and repair Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of engines (gas and diesel), powertrain to include differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, PTOs, wheel ends, electrical systems including starters and alternators, HVAC systems, steering systems, electronics to include ECMS, ECUs, sensors, engine bolt‑on items such as turbos, fan clutches, injectors, cooling system, brake systems including ABS, suspension systems, complete assemblies, turbochargers and fuel systems At least two years of experience as an automotive technician (required) Strong knowledge of all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment and lift operation Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data to maintain accurate records Maintain a professional appearance and provide friendly customer service Must have basic tools Excellent communication, customer service, and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to remain composed under stress Must have a valid driver's license Benefits Competitive weekly pay Paid vacation Employee purchase and service discounts Full benefits options including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and accident insurance 401(k) retirement savings plan State‑of‑the‑art facility with a professional working environment Seniority level Mid‑Senior level Employment type Full‑time Job function Management and Manufacturing Industries: Motor Vehicle Manufacturing Tampa, FL #J-18808-Ljbffr Greenway Automotive
