Data Entry Specialist - Retirement Records
6 Month Contract to hire
Rate: $22hr
Location: Phoenix, AZ (30th and Camelback)
Role Summary
Seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry Specialist to support retirement records and pension administration. The majority of the work, especially at the start of the assignment, is entering, updating, reviewing, and organizing member information in database and records systems. As the specialist learns the systems and processes, the role may expand to include direct interactions with members.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter and update member information accurately in retirement and benefits systems, including addresses, tax withholding, direct deposit, dependent information, and insurance elections.
- Review entries and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy; identify discrepancies that need follow-up.
- Establish and maintain electronic and paper retirement records.
- Prepare documents for scanning, scan records, and electronically transmit insurance applications as directed.
- Assist with returned mail, monthly mailings, and other records-related administrative tasks.
- Support account reconciliation, audits, and payment-related updates, including ACH returns, stop payments, and check reissues, as assigned.
- Protect confidential member information and follow applicable privacy requirements and internal procedures.
- Later in the role, assist members by phone, email, or in person with account, retirement benefit, insurance, or online portal questions as training and business needs allow.
Qualifications
- Experience in a data entry, records processing, administrative support, or similar role.
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail when entering and reviewing high volumes of information.
- Comfort working in databases, document management systems, and common computer applications.
- Ability to organize work, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information appropriately.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with retirement systems, pension administration, benefits, insurance processing, or accounting is helpful, but candidates whose primary strength is accurate data entry and records management are encouraged to apply.
