\nPOSITION DESCRIPTION: \n
\nThis organization is seeking a physician leader for a facility medical director and supervising physician role, which includes some patient care duties.\n
\n
\nPhysicians see patients in skilled nursing facilities and are remotely supported by a robust clinical and administrative team.\n
\n
\nThe duties of the role include, among other responsibilities:\n
\n
\n- medical directorship(s) for SNFs\n
\n- ensure engagement with facility leadership, other providers, patients, and families\n
\n- help identify growth opportunities in local market\n
\n- supervise nurse practitioners\n
\n- audit documentation for supervised providers on a monthly basis\n
\n- provide high-quality complex geriatric care to patients\n
\n- collaborate with other healthcare providers as needed\n
\n- participate in the on-call schedule\n
\n- attend required trainings and meetings\n
\n
\nThe new physician leader will also be charged with keeping focus on quality outcomes such as:\n
\n
\n- care path compliance\n
\n- productivity\n
\n- prevention of avoidable transfers\n
\n- decrease in polypharmacy\n
\n- costs of care\n
\n
\nThe practice uses an EHR on a mobile-based platform.\n
\n
\n
\n
\nREQUIREMENTS:\n
\n- Virginia medical license\n
\n- DEA\n
\n- Board Certification, relevant field (Internal / Family Medicine, Geriatrics, etc.)\n
\n- 2+ years clinical leadership or supervising physician experience\n
\n- 5+ years clinical practice experience\n
\n
