LOCATION

DOROT is headquartered on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and the team works on a hybrid schedule. The Program Coordinator is expected to work in the office or be in the community a minimum of 2 days per week and as needed.

ABOUT THE ONSITE & SPECIAL PROGRAMS DEPARTMENT

DOROTs Onsite & Special Programs department provides diverse, impactful classes, workshops, cultural events and other presentations for our community of over 4,000 adults ages 60 to 100+. Whether online via Zoom, over the phone, or in person, our programs promote health and wellness, lifelong learning and enrichment, creative expression, and meaningful social connection.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating University Without Walls (UWW), DOROTs flagship teleconference program for older adults. This position involves a rich combination of responsibilities that help us shape and deliver programming that best meets constituents interests and needs, including developing diverse and engaging program content, building positive and productive community relationships, and having direct communication with our older adult community. The successful candidate will be creative, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about developing programs for individuals who rely on the telephone for access to programs and social connection.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as a vital and proactive member of the Onsite and Special Programs team, contributing to the achievement of UWW program and constituent goals and the sharing of information between programs.
  
• Plan and implement more than 150 teleconference programs annually on subjects related to art, culture, news, health and wellness, vision loss, bereavement, and more.
  • Gauge the ongoing demand for current programsand participants additionalprogram interests/needs.
  • Develop additionalopportunities for constituents to share their legacies, practice new skills, and connect with peers.
  • Cultivate relationships withfacilitators and cultural, health, social service,and educational organizations to produce new classes that expand the breadth of the UWW program.
  • Enhance program planning and design by reviewing and analyzing relevant data from DOROTs database and program evaluations.
• Oversee the creation, printing, and distribution of the program catalog, including managing production schedule, draftingand reviewing copy, coordinating with DOROTs Advancement team, and communicating with outside printer on production and distribution.
  
• Execute strategies to engage new and diverse facilitators and participants. This includes developing and conducting presentations and speaking to community groups.
• Train and support volunteer and professional program facilitators by providing orientation, training, and feedback to support best practices for engaging older adults and building social connections in teleconference programs.
• Collaborate with other DOROT departments for participant support and program planning, including:
  • Conferringwith DOROTs Supportive Services staff to address older adults needs for social work interventions, referrals, or other supports.
  • Developing targeted marketing and outreach strategies for participant recruitment.
• Train, mentor, and supervise office volunteers and interns to ensure that UWW practices and protocols are understood and carried out with professionalism and excellence.
• Support registration of new participants and serve as backup for managing teleconference call connections.
  
• Collect and enter participation data, constituent interactions, and partner relationships using DOROTs online database (Salesforce platform); also contribute to the monthly review of statistics for internal reports and analysis of trends
• Complete other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors Degree or higher with 3+ years of professional experience in education, social services, nonprofit management, or similar field
• Experience in facilitatingor teaching adult learners; working with older adults preferred
• Highly proactive and critical thinker
• Self-starter able to effectively and independently manage multiple time-sensitive projects and deliverables
• Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills
  
• Demonstrated success in relationship cultivation
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking/presentations
• Keen attention to detail and ability to perform complex administrative processes
• Knowledge of Office 365;video conferencing (Zoom) is required.
• Availability to work occasional evening hours and approximately four Sundays per year.

This position is non-exempt, and candidates can expect an annualized base salary between $54,000-$60,000 commensurate with experience.
