Arts Program Associate (CSLP FWS)

Position Summary Grand Canyon University (GCU) maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)(3) through their charitable programs. The collective mission of these organizations in the Phoenix Valley is to improve the quality of life for community residents or to address particular community needs. GCU maintains a partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of the Valley – AZ (BGCAZ) located at 4309 E. Belleview Street, Bldg. 14, Phoenix, AZ, 85008. BGCAZ fosters academic excellence, strong character, leadership development, healthy lifestyles, and workforce preparedness. Primary Responsibilities Provide arts‑focused, high‑yield enrichment activities for students in grades K–6, including middle school. Facilitate small‑group, arts‑focused experiences (fine arts, performing arts, spoken word, culinary arts, and digital arts) for students in grades K–6, including middle school. Perform other duties as assigned. Schedule and Hours The CSLP student worker’s work schedule is dependent on the hours of operations and needs of BGCAZ; however, CSLP student workers may not work more than 20 hours per week during the academic year (fall and spring). If eligible, CSLP student workers can work during summer (May – August). Equipment Used MS Office Suite. Qualifications Have passion and willingness to help others succeed. Possess strong ethics, integrity, and a sense of responsibility. Must have reliable transportation. Previous mentoring experience is a plus. Ability to speak a second language is a plus. Eligibility Requirements Enrolled at GCU in a bachelor’s program or master’s program full‑time during fall/spring or half‑time during summer. Maintain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student. Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University. Applicants may be subject to termination if they fall below the minimum requirements. Pay and Anticipated End Date Pay Rate: Minimum Wage. Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2027. Eligibility for Federal Work‑Study Note: All FWS and FWS‑CSLP positions require applicants to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be reviewed for FWS‑eligibility and awarded FWS. Employment Conditions Employment is contingent upon the satisfactory outcome (as determined by the university) of pre‑employment screening activities, including a background check.
