New Country is seeking a motivated and highly organized Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join the legal team of a large, established automotive group with dealerships operating across multiple states.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and exposure to a broad range of legal and business matters. Working directly with the  General Counsel , the successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the company’s legal, compliance, corporate, and operational needs.

The position offers meaningful hands-on experience, significant interaction with different areas of the business, and the opportunity to develop a broad legal skill set. Training and guidance will be provided , making this a strong opportunity for a motivated candidate looking to grow within an in-house legal environment.

 

Responsibilities

 

The Legal Assistant / Paralegal will provide day-to-day administrative and paralegal support to General Counsel, including:

• Managing and completing corporate filings and maintaining corporate records
• Assisting with insurance claims and related documentation
• Supporting regulatory and compliance matters across multiple dealerships and states
• Assisting with manufacturer agreements and dealership-related legal matters
• Responding to subpoenas and other document requests
• Assisting with pre-litigation customer and employee matters
• Drafting and preparing contracts, correspondence, legal documents, and other business materials
• Gathering, reviewing, organizing, and preparing documents for attorney review
• Conducting limited legal and factual research
• Maintaining organized electronic and paper filing systems
• Tracking legal matters, deadlines, projects, and follow-up items
• Maintaining task lists, calendars, and important legal and corporate deadlines
• Coordinating with dealership personnel, management, outside counsel, insurance representatives, and other business partners as needed

 

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

 

We are looking for someone who is  organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn . The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be comfortable handling multiple priorities in a professional, fast-paced business environment.

Strong candidates will demonstrate:

• Previous experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or Legal Administrative Assistant required.
• Paralegal certificate or relevant college degree preferred but not required with appropriate experience.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential matters
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assignments
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines
• A professional and collaborative approach
• Initiative and a willingness to learn new areas of law and business
