Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator

Job Description Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI), the incumbent will perform entry‑level duties related to the support and coordination of clinical research studies evaluating evidence‑based interventions for traditionally underserved populations worldwide. Responsibilities Prepare protocols for the study and design flow sheets, data forms, and source documents. Gather data regarding clinical trial subjects and apply inclusion/exclusion eligibility criteria as appropriate. Recruit, enroll, register, schedule, and retain study subjects. Assist research personnel in keeping subjects on study schedules and complete study forms for sponsors and other agencies. Collect, enter, and clean data into study databases, maintaining data quality. Assist with data analysis, preparation of reports, and tables. Attend team meetings and assist with the management of the study website. Perform additional duties as assigned. Administrative Project Support Schedule project and collaborator meetings. Disseminate project‑related materials to project team staff. Update the lab website. Clinical Research Support Complete study documentation including IRB reports, funder reports, and presentation, manuscript, and grant preparation. Data entry, database management, and data transfer processes. Assist with recruitment, enrollment, consent, and retention of participants. Conduct screening interviews with parents and teachers of students with attention and behavior concerns. Update clinical materials, including manuals, handouts, and videos. Support delivery of school‑based behavioral health interventions being evaluated. Build and maintain partnerships with school stakeholders. Qualifications Required Qualifications High school graduation and sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to perform the assigned duties. Fluency in Spanish. Attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment while working with a diverse subject population. Ability to work independently, complete projects in a timely manner, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent quantitative skills. Proficiency in basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, calendaring (Google Calendar and Outlook), cloud storage (REDCap, Qualtrics), and other online tasks. Preferred Qualifications One or more years of research experience working on clinical trials. Experience with recruiting and/or managing study participants. Clear understanding of maintaining the security and confidentiality of participant data. Fluency in using the Committee of Human Research (CHR) online iMEDris system for protocol submission, renewal, and modification. Understanding of patient populations to build rapport and provide realistic participation guidance. Certification by the Society of Clinical Research Associates or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals. BS in Psychology or Education preferred. Experience with electronic medical records. Knowledge of UCSF and departmental policies on reimbursement, research guidelines, confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, patient safety, and data management within platforms such as Access, Stata, SSAS/SPSS, and Teleform. Experience applying Good Clinical Practice Guidelines, Health Information and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Protection of Human Research Subjects CHR regulations for recruitment and consent, and effective cash handling procedures.
