A specialized rehabilitation hospital seeks an experienced Pharmacist to serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) and provide hands-on pharmacy management and dispensing services. This contract opportunity offers a chance to oversee daily pharmacy operations in a 36-bed facility focused on rehabilitative patient care.

Location: Seaford, DE

Schedule:

• 40 hours per week
• Pharmacy hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Weekend, after-hours, and on-call coverage may be necessary

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as PIC with full accountability for pharmacy operations, including licensing and compliance
• Provide direct pharmacy services, ensuring accurate medication dispensing and patient safety
• Staff pharmacy for 40 hours weekly and oversee pharmacy technician staff per shift
• Manage inventory, orders, and the use of the hospital pharmacy information system (Wellsky)
• Utilize Pyxis automation system for medication dispensing and control
• Prepare IV compounded sterile preparations (no chemotherapy involved)
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to support medication therapy in a rehab hospital setting

Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist with PIC credentials or ability to obtain PIC status
• Prior experience as a Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist in Charge preferred
• Familiarity with IV compounding in a hospital environment
• Knowledge of pharmacy automation systems such as Pyxis
• Proficient in using pharmacy information systems like Wellsky
• Strong leadership and communication skills to guide pharmacy staff and coordinate with clinical teams
