Medical Assistant/Front Desk ReceptionistMetro Infectious Disease Consultants is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant/Front Desk Receptionist to work at the clinic located in Jonesboro, GA.This Assistant's responsibilities include all duties related to the back-office and front desk. Responsibilities assigned to individuals can and will change at any time at the discretion of management or the supervisor.Back Office Responsibilities:1) Escort patients from reception to exam room, documenting height, weight, blood pressure and temperature as indicated, document patient's chief complaint and notify doctor when patient is ready to be seen2) Stock exam rooms with supplies each morning, clean rooms between patients3) Maintain inventory of medical supplies, completing requisitions (order forms) in a timely manner to ensure supplies are not depleted4) Other tasks as assigned by managementFront Office Responsibilities:1) Filing of all scanned paperwork daily2) Fax clinic schedules to physicians for next clinic day.3) Prepare travel chart weekly4) Open and distribute mail, daily5) Print schedule for following clinic day. Verify that all progress notes and super-bills are attached6) Order office supplies7) Answer telephone calls, including closed offices at different locations8) Page on consultations to physicians. Page should include consult, hospital, patient name, room number, referring physician, and hospital phone number with appropriate extension9) Make appointments for new and existing patients according to set guidelines. If patient is new, directions should be given10) Handle and process billing information daily11) Handle and process dictation, letters, and physician orders daily12) Register patients, enter and/or update patient demographics, make copies of vital information13) Collect co-payments and past due balances from patients at check-in/check-out desk14) Coordinate and process referral information for managed care patients15) Process medical records requests16) Escort patients from reception to exam room, documenting height, weight, blood pressure and temperature as indicated, document patient's chief complaint and notify doctor when patient is ready to be seen17) Obtain laboratory specimens as requested, completing lab requisitions and preparing samples for pick-up by lab. Document same in Medical Record18) Ensure superbills are completed at visit end, including, visit code, diagnoses and all labs ordered
