Controls Engineer

Salary: $137,000 - 177,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering field.
• We require at least 3 months of relevant work experience.
• We prefer experience with modeling tools such as MATLAB/Simulink.
• We prefer familiarity with developing and tuning control algorithms.
• We prefer knowledge of power system applications, including battery energy storage systems.
• We prefer strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• We prefer the ability to communicate technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
• We prefer basic engineering knowledge applied to improving products or services.
• We prefer the ability to solve straightforward engineering problems and make sound decisions.
• We prefer strong verbal and written communication skills.

• We provide engineering input to assigned product development projects while partnering closely with cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, sourcing, quality, service, and marketing.
• We design, validate, and help launch new products to market.
• We support new product development for Industrial, Commercial, Residential, and/or Retail generator or Power Tool product areas.
• We create and maintain control algorithms and simulation models.
• We support product development plans, including schedules, product cost targets, and design input alignment.
• We interface with internal stakeholders and provide technical support for assigned initiatives.
• We define product functional requirements and design, test, and integrate standard, less complex components into final solutions.
• We evaluate design effectiveness, cost, reliability, risk, and safety.
• We develop and assess fitness-for-use testing, product specifications, and process validation plans.
• We create and review product configuration and tuning files.
• We collaborate with designers and product specialists to improve manufacturability of basic designs.
• We apply model-based design methods to develop and validate new designs and produce detailed simulation outputs.
• We support product development planning as needed and act as a resource for more experienced engineers.
