About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its philanthropic mission, which is deeply rooted in the legacy of its founders. The successful candidate will be the chief steward of the organization's vision, mission, and values, ensuring that all programs and operations align with the founders' charitable purposes. This hands-on executive role requires a strategic leader with a proven track record in financial management, staff leadership, and a strong commitment to community engagement. The Executive Director will be responsible for the full grantmaking lifecycle, overseeing the operations of the Foundation's historic gardens, and maintaining robust administrative and financial systems. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) and a minimum of 7-10 years' of senior leadership experience in the nonprofit or philanthropic sector. Experience in foundation grantmaking and a deep understanding of the local community are essential. The role demands a leader who can balance tradition and modernization, protect the mission, and collaborate effectively with the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate will be a mission-centered, strategic leader with a strong background in operational and financial management, and a proven ability to build and sustain authentic relationships with diverse stakeholders.
