Job Summary BioLegend is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to develop reagents for immunological assays, with a focus on magnetic cell separation and cell stimulation applications. The role involves independently driving research projects from conception to completion in collaboration with multi‑disciplinary teams. Essential Functions Primary human/mouse cell preparation and culture. Development and optimization of assays for cell isolation and analysis, including cell separation, immunofluorescence staining and cell function. Identify and implement new assay technologies to improve throughput and performance. Independently analyze flow cytometry data using FlowJo and/or FCS express. Analyze experimental data, prepare reports, and present findings to supervisor and/or department. Maintain clear and accurate experimental records and enter data into relevant databases according to company policy and ISO requirements. Maintain laboratory facilities, equipment, and supplies. Promote a safe and compliant work environment. Take on additional projects or responsibilities as required. Minimum Qualifications BS Degree in a Life Sciences related area. 1+ years of hands‑on experience in a laboratory setting in academia or industry. 1 year of hands‑on experience with primary cell tissue culture and cell lines. 1 year of hands‑on experience with flow cytometry and immunology experiments. Preferred Qualifications 6+ months of experience with magnetic cell‑separation assays from primary cell samples. Experience with human and mouse primary cell preparation, tissue culture, and immunofluorescence staining. Professional experience with flow cytometry and use of FlowJo and/or FCS express. Experience with BD’s Canto II or similar flow cytometers. Experience in cell‑based assays such as cell activation, proliferation, and differentiation. Work Environment & Physical Demands The position is based in a laboratory setting, involving occasional data entry on a computer and occasional exposure to a warehouse environment. Typical physical demands include manual handling of specimens, using hands and fingers to manipulate tools and controls, standing, talking, and hearing. Compensation Hourly pay varies by level (Research Associate I or II). The anticipated hourly range for Research Associate I is $23.00–$30.75 per hour, with each level having a corresponding range that reflects scope of responsibilities and experience.
