Role Description

This is a full-time, fully remote position for an attorney with 2–5 years of experience to join KLA Legal’s Cybersecurity, Data Privacy & Incident Response practice. The attorney will assist clients in responding to cybersecurity incidents and data breaches while advising on privacy obligations, regulatory requirements, and investigations.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing or supporting incident response matters and a strong interest in the intersection of cybersecurity, privacy, and regulatory compliance. This role provides meaningful client exposure and the opportunity to work alongside experienced attorneys on time-sensitive and complex matters.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cybersecurity incident and data breach response matters from initial notification through resolution
• Advise clients on data privacy obligations and regulatory requirements arising from security incidents
• Support regulatory investigations, inquiries, and communications with governmental authorities
• Conduct legal and regulatory research related to cybersecurity, privacy, data protection, and emerging technologies
• Analyze applicable federal and state privacy and data breach notification requirements
• Draft incident response communications, regulatory submissions, legal memoranda, and other client-facing materials
• Coordinate with clients, forensic investigators, cybersecurity professionals, insurers, and other third-party advisors
• Assist with evaluating legal, regulatory, and operational risks associated with cybersecurity incidents
• Help develop practical strategies to mitigate risk and support clients through evolving regulatory requirements
• Maintain awareness of developments in cybersecurity, privacy laws, regulatory guidance, and enforcement activity
• Communicate directly with clients and collaborate with internal teams in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience practicing law
• Experience with cybersecurity incident response and data breach matters
• Experience with data privacy and data protection laws and regulations
• Background supporting or managing regulatory investigations, inquiries, or compliance matters
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage time-sensitive matters and competing priorities
• Strong attention to detail and sound legal judgment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys, clients, and outside professionals
• Interest or experience in cybersecurity, technology, privacy, insurance, or regulatory compliance
• JD from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
