Sr. Procurement Manager

Overview At Layup Parts, our mission is simple: deliver high‑quality composite parts faster. We are a composites manufacturing startup looking to push the boundaries of “traditional” procurement. Our organization moves quickly, and you must too. Responsibilities Own and manage preferred supplier relationships, identify risk or need areas, and establish new relationships. Create and implement programs to develop and continuously improve supplier performance and track performance metrics. Review and manage all supplier contracts, work with the COO, and adjust terms as required, applying creativity and sound business reasoning. Maintain awareness of sales quotes, review incoming sales orders, monitor existing stock, and place orders as needed to keep appropriate material on hand. Develop internal procurement systems: establish processes to ensure no material out‑of‑stock, reduce waste and expiration, evaluate suppliers’ on‑time delivery, track project cost, implement budgeting and purchase approval requests. Negotiate terms to maximize value, save time, and reduce risk. Use analytics to identify opportunities to save money and measure your contribution to the company. Handle all day‑to‑day procurement activities. Position may require extended hours or weekend work. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience in procurement, contract negotiation, material or production planning, operations or supply chain management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of interaction with internal and external customers. Experience in startups or small teams in fast‑paced, changing environments. Comfortable working in environments with little to no established systems or structure. Excellent time‑management and multitasking skills; addresses all work with a sense of urgency and prioritizes critical tasks. Conduct all activities with the highest integrity. Familiar with finance and accounting methods of cost classification. Familiar with ITAR regulation or experience in a workplace where ITAR policies are implemented. Familiar with AS9100 processes for supplier evaluation and direct/indirect material classification. Experience in manufacturing or aerospace. Remarkable problem‑solving skills.
