The ER Registered Nurse provides critical patient care in a short term acute care, Level III Trauma Center environment. Working primarily night shifts within nurse-led teams, the nurse manages a low patient caseload of 1-3 patients, ensuring timely assessment, treatment, and monitoring in emergency situations. This role demands expertise in clinical procedures, emergency response, and effective team collaboration to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

13 Week Contract with the option to extend

Hours: 7pm - 730 am (3-12 hour shifts = 36 hours per week)

 

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications accurately and safely
• Respond swiftly to emergency situations and provide critical interventions
• Continuously monitor patient status and vital signs
• Maintain detailed and accurate clinical documentation
• Educate patients and families regarding care and treatment plans
• Collaborate effectively within nurse-led teams to coordinate care
• Adhere to infection control protocols and clinical procedures

 

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification

 

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of nursing experience
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Critical Care experience
• IV Therapy skills
• Proficiency in patient communication
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR)
• Triage expertise
• Strong teamwork and time management abilities
