Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager role will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and managing the organization's accounting operations, including general ledger management, financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls. In addition, this role will partner with highly skilled professionals across the business to ensure accuracy, drive process improvements, and support strategic financial decision-making. This candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about maintaining financial integrity and operational excellence. In addition, the person in this role will have the mentality to think like a business owner and take a proactive yet collaborative approach to accomplishing organizational goals. This position reports directly to the Controller or Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities will include:

• Financial Reporting and Analysis
  
  
  • Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and statements of cash flow.
  • Provide management with regular financial reports and performance analysis to support business decisions.
• Operational Management
  
  
  • Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger staff.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and maintain internal controls.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with department heads.
• Compliance and Audit
  
  
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors.
  • Maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
• Technical and Strategic Functions
  
  
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting transactions.
  • Manage all tax-related matters, including the preparation and filing of various tax returns.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and automation within the accounting department.
• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statement
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
• Coordinate and complete annual audits
• Provide recommendations
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
• Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Meet financial accounting objectives
• Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions

Requirements:

• Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor Finance Manager
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
• Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to direct and supervise
• BS degree in Accounting or Finance
