Maintenance Repair Worker

Maintenance Repair WorkerUnder the general direction of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. This position performs a wide range of advanced maintenance tasks which may require the application of some independent judgement and mechanical knowledge related to repair functions. These tasks may include but will not be limited to, facility repairs, machine repair, plumbing, painting, air conditioning service and janitorial functions. This work primarily involves property maintenance with varying degrees of skill levels. All work product must be performed to current codes and industry standards. This work activity includes the operation of 4000 psi pressure cleaners, vacuum cleaners, and high pressure steam cleaners, and assorted shop tools, heavy duty trucks, along with aerial devices such as ladders, bucket trucks and scaffolding. Other tasks required in this position include, but are not limited to streetlight repair, carpentry, welding, plumbing and furniture moving. This position requires the maintenance repair worker to perform preventative maintenance activities and specific record keeping of daily work assignments. Work is reviewed by observation and by results obtained. Special or unique operational skills may generally be acquired by on-the-job-training.
