Job Summary

Brody Chemical is seeking a self-driven Service & Sales Representative responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers while driving revenue through service, repair, maintenance, and support of existing and new customer equipment and products.

The primary focus of this position is to identify and pursue opportunities within Brody Chemical's existing customer base to increase equipment uptime, improve customer satisfaction, generate service revenue, and expand chemical usage.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized, and possesses strong time-management skills, with the ability to independently manage a customer base, prioritize opportunities, follow up consistently, and manage multiple customer needs and sales opportunities simultaneously.

As a secondary responsibility, the Service Sales Representative will identify opportunities for new equipment sales, equipment upgrades, installations, and chemical sales. This position will work closely with customers, service technicians, engineering, operations, and sales to provide complete solutions that meet customer needs.

The ideal candidate is a customer-focused sales professional with strong mechanical aptitude, capable of understanding commercial/industrial equipment, identifying service needs, developing quotes, coordinating installations, and building long-term customer relationships. Experience in the chemical service-sales industry is preferred but not required.

This position requires someone who can work independently, manage their time effectively, take initiative, and consistently follow through on customer opportunities without requiring extensive day-to-day supervision.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Existing Customer Service & Equipment

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing Brody Chemical customers.
• Serve as the primary commercial contact for customers regarding equipment service and support needs.
• Review customer equipment history and identify opportunities for additional service revenue.
• Generate service and repair reports and quotes in FieldAware and NetSuite.
• Follow up on open service quotes and convert opportunities into completed work.
• Help prioritize customer service issues based on urgency, customer impact, and revenue opportunity.
• Maintain regular communication with customers throughout the service process.
• Identify recurring equipment problems and communicate them through the appropriate process.
• Manage and maintain preventive maintenance programs and service agreements.
• Follow up after service completion to confirm customer satisfaction and identify additional needs.
• Maintain accurate customer, equipment, service, and opportunity information in FieldAware and NetSuite systems.
• Maintain spare parts and product inventories.

2. New Equipment Sales & Installation

• Identify opportunities to sell new equipment to existing and prospective customers.
• Evaluate customer operations and recommend equipment solutions based on their needs.
• Develop equipment proposals and quotations.
• Coordinate with appropriate internal resources on equipment specifications and requirements.
• Manage the sales process from initial opportunity through order, installation, and customer acceptance.
• Coordinate equipment installation schedules with customers, technicians, and internal personnel.
• Assist in identifying equipment replacement opportunities when existing equipment is no longer economical to repair.
• Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, automation, and expanded system capabilities.

3. Chemical Sales

• Develop additional chemical sales within the existing customer base.
• Identify opportunities to increase chemical usage through equipment, process, or operational improvements.
• Work with customers to understand their chemical requirements and application challenges.
• Introduce customers to new or alternative Brody Chemical products where appropriate.
• Monitor customer chemical usage and identify potential changes in demand.
• Work with the chemical sales team and technical resources to provide appropriate product recommendations.
• Develop long-term customer relationships that increase customer retention and chemical sales.
• Identify opportunities to bundle chemical, equipment, installation, and service into complete customer solutions.

Customer Relationship Management

• Establish regular communication with key customers.
• Develop relationships with customer owners, managers, maintenance personnel, purchasing departments, and operators.
• Conduct customer visits and equipment assessments.
• Document customer needs, issues, opportunities, and follow-up actions.
• Maintain an accurate sales/service pipeline.
• Respond quickly to customer requests and concerns.
• Escalate technical, quality, or service issues when appropriate.
• Act as the customer's advocate within Brody Chemical.

Sales Responsibilities

• Develop new opportunities primarily through the existing customer base.
• Prospect selectively for new customers where appropriate.
• Prepare quotes, proposals, and service agreements.
• Conduct follow-up activities on open proposals.
• Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within established company guidelines.
• Close service, equipment, installation, and chemical opportunities.
• Meet established sales and gross-margin objectives.
• Develop annual account plans for key customers.
• Track sales activity, opportunities, quotes, and forecasted revenue.

Qualifications

Required

• 2+ years of experience in sales, service sales, equipment sales, industrial sales, or a related field.
• Strong customer relationship and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs and convert them into sales opportunities.
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
• Ability to understand mechanical equipment and basic technical concepts.
• Ability to read and understand equipment specifications, service reports, and quotations.
• Comfortable conducting customer site visits.
• Ability to manage multiple customer opportunities simultaneously.
• Self-motivated, highly organized, and possesses strong time-management skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer locations.

Preferred

• Experience selling industrial or commercial equipment.
• Experience working with FieldNation service platform.
• Experience with chemical sales or chemical applications.
• Mechanical or technical background.
• Experience selling service contracts or preventive maintenance programs.
• Experience with equipment installation projects.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar platforms.

Travel Requirements

This position requires regular travel to customer locations for:

• Onsite repairs
• Equipment inspections
• Preventive maintenance schedule visits
• Sales presentations
• Equipment evaluations
• Installation coordination
• Customer follow-up

Travel requirements will vary based on customer location and business needs, including out-of-state travel approximately 20% of the time.

Competitive base salary plus performance-based compensation tied to service, equipment, installation, and chemical sales.
