Material Handler / Industrial Forklift Operator

We are seeking an experienced Material Handler / Industrial Forklift Operator to support our fast-paced manufacturing operation. In this role, you will safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment, manage inventory, move materials throughout the facility, and ensure production teams have the materials they need to succeed.

• Safely operate forklifts and powered industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Load, unload, receive, verify, and store incoming materials.
• Deliver materials to production departments in a timely manner.
• Track inventory using RF scanners, tablets, computers, and inventory management systems.
• Complete accurate inventory transactions and maintain detailed material records.
• Perform picking, packing, and material handling duties as needed.
• Maintain organized storage locations and efficient material flow.
• Report inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, or equipment issues.
• Keep work areas clean and follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Support overall production and warehouse operations as assigned.

• Minimum 1 year of forklift or industrial truck operating experience.
• Experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or production environment.
• Familiarity with RF scanners, inventory systems, and material tracking processes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Experience receiving, storing, organizing, and moving materials.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

• SwingMast forklift experience.
• Inventory control or material tracking experience.
• Picking and packing experience.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Experience identifying and resolving inventory discrepancies.

• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs independently and heavier items with team assistance.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the shift.
• Comfortable working 8-12 hour shifts in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, and loud industrial conditions.

This position is located in a fast-paced manufacturing facility where employees regularly operate forklifts, move materials, support production teams, and utilize inventory management technology. The role requires working safely in active production areas with ongoing forklift and pedestrian traffic.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lawrence, KS.

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Lawrence,KS.
