Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered PEDS (Pediatric Emergency Department) in a healthcare facility. This role involves delivering comprehensive respiratory care, evaluating patient needs, operating ventilatory equipment, assisting with procedures, and monitoring patient responses to therapy. The position requires providing education to patients and effective communication with the healthcare team to ensure optimal care delivery.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Valid Respiratory Therapist (RT) credential, basic life support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and at least 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist preferred.
• Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities include operating ventilatory and respiratory equipment, performing chest physiotherapy, suctioning, monitoring oxygenation and ventilation, conducting pulmonary function studies, assisting with invasive procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement, performing tracheostomy care, arterial puncture, and ensuring proper documentation.
• Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines, manages mechanical ventilation, and maintains and repairs respiratory equipment as needed.
• Assists in laboratory testing procedures, including specimen handling and quality controls, following all policies.
• Demonstrates strong communication skills with physicians and team members, maintaining accurate treatment records and reporting patient responses.
