OPHTHALMIC SURGICAL ASSISTANT

Center for Advanced Surgical Arts - Wilmington, Delaware Full-Time | Day Shift | Monday-Friday | No Nights | No Weekends | No Call We are seeking a motivated Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or greater looking to advance their career and become an Ophthalmic Surgical Assistant. Responsibilities Assist with the preparation and flow of ophthalmic surgical cases Prepare operating rooms and procedure areas for surgery Assist with patient positioning and preparation Assist the surgical team during cataract and other ophthalmic procedures Maintain sterile technique and follow infection-prevention practices Assist with room turnover and preparation between cases Clean and prepare surgical equipment and instrumentation Assist with instrument processing and sterilization as needed Maintain appropriate supply levels and help identify needed inventory Follow all ASC policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements What We Offer Full-time daytime schedule Monday-Friday workweek No nights, weekends, holidays, or call Fast-paced, team-oriented work environment Opportunity to work with an experienced surgical team in 5 different ophthalmic specialties. Qualifications Must be certified at a core level (COA, COT, or COMT) Certification as an Ophthalmic Surgical Assistant preferred or be willing to obtain certification after on the job training Previous ophthalmology/ophthalmic surgical experience preferred Experience in an ambulatory surgery center or operating room preferred Knowledge of ophthalmic surgical procedures, equipment, and terminology Understanding of sterile technique and infection-control practices Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume surgical environment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Dependable, professional, and team-oriented Excellent communication and patient-care skills #J-18808-Ljbffr Lumata Health, Inc.
