Mechanical Pipe Foreman

The Mechanical Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily activities of mechanical craft workers on-site. This role ensures that all mechanical installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks are completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with project specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements. The Mechanical Foreman acts as a leader, trainer, and quality controller for the crew.Pay Range:$34/hr - $42/hrResponsibilities:Selects type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and valves, according to job specifications.Assists foreman in planning the sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers.Cuts pipe using pipe cutter, pipe saw, power tools (band saw), and pipe cutting machine.Threads pipe using threading machine.Knowledge in safe operation of Victaulic roll grooving and cut groove operationsMounts pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to hold pipe.Assembles and installs a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded, wrapped, soldering, brazen, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools.Secures pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools.Knowledge in safe and professional testing of piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.Observes and complies with all safety and project rules and all company policies and proceduresHas working knowledge of working around heavy machinery to include hydraulic and lattice cranesAbility to rig and signal loads as requiredAbility to set and align process equipment like pumps and blowersConducts field layout of piping system and calculates offsets, miters, and fittings as requiredPerforms other duties as required.Alignment to Clark Standards of Excellence: Self-Motivated, Results Oriented, Adaptable, Team Player, Accountable, Ethical, Innovative, Resilient, Builds RelationshipsQualifications:Always attentive to detail and alert to ensure safetyAbility to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workersAbility to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelinesAbility to read drawings including but not limited to pipe shop drawings, mechanical drawings, and P&ID’sExcellent physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy objectsGood communication skillsAbility to lead a crew of 3-8 employees in safe and productive execution of the work.Ensure compliance with safety procedures and conduct safe start meetings with the crew dailyAbility to track and document crew hours worked and phase timesheetsAbility to track and measure production of the crewAbility to plan our work activities to ensure proper tools and on time delivery of materials and equipment.Join us in building the future! You must be able to work safely around heavy equipment and construction traffic. You must be able to frequently lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds alone, and use team-lifting techniques for anything heavier. Long periods of continual standing or walking are required, along with the ability to bend, climb, kneel, and reach. Good balance and dexterity are crucial, as you will be working safely at various heights and in tight spaces. You'll need visual acuity to operate equipment and spot hazards, and the ability to hear with or without assistance to understand instructions in noisy environments.Your Work Environment on the Site: You’ll regularly work outdoors and may be exposed to the elements—be it heat, cold, rain, snow, or wind. The work environment frequently involves exposure to moving mechanical equipment, high noise levels, dust, fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, and potential electrical hazards.
