Now Hiring: Certified Central Sterile Processing Technician (Travel Contract)

Location: Juneau, Alaska

Facility: SEARHC - Juneau Dental Clinic

Assignment: 13-Week Travel Contract

Start Date: September 21, 2026 (approximately 6 weeks after fingerprint processing)

Schedule: Monday-Friday (Rotating Shifts)

• 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Position Overview


We are seeking an experienced and Certified Central Sterile Processing Technician to join a busy dental healthcare team in Juneau, Alaska. This role requires a highly motivated professional who can work independently while maintaining the highest standards of infection prevention and instrument sterilization.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, assembly, packaging, and distribution of surgical and dental instruments.
• Disassemble and thoroughly clean reusable instruments to remove debris and bioburden before sterilization.
• Operate autoclaves and other sterilization equipment following manufacturer instructions and AAMI guidelines.
• Perform biological monitoring, quality assurance checks, and maintain accurate sterilization records.
• Inspect instruments and equipment to ensure proper functionality and report maintenance or repair needs.
• Communicate effectively with clinical staff regarding instrument availability and processing priorities.
• Assist with inventory management, product ordering, stocking, and supply organization.
• Participate in continuing education and support training of team members as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of Sterile Processing experience with the ability to work independently.
• Current CRCST (HSPA) or CBSPD Sterile Processing Certification.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
• Strong knowledge of infection prevention, sterile techniques, surgical instrumentation, and inventory management.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Important Information

• Flu vaccination is required.
• Travelers must reside at least 50 miles from the facility.
• Housing and transportation are not provided by the facility.
• No Alaska state license is required.
• Experience with Meditech EMR is a plus.
