Shift Details

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)

This position is for a Stepdown/PCU Registered Nurse. Candidates may choose one holiday for the year, either Thanksgiving or Christmas, but cannot choose both.

Position Requirements

Experience: Requires a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience with cardiac drip management, including titration and management.
Patient Ratios: 1:3-4
Weekend Coverage: Required every other weekend.
Floating: Candidates may float to Telemetry or Medical-Surgical floors if overstaffed.

Certifications

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Required Skills

BiPAP/CPAP management
Blood Product Administration
Cardiac Telemetry
Central line care/management
Chest tubes care (Emerson/PleurEvac)
Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)
Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
IV insulin protocols
Management of dysrhythmias
Starting and maintaining IVs
Telemetry monitoring (unit and remote)
Titration of Cardiac and Vasoactive drips

Additional Information

The hospital has interdisciplinary support that includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Isolation Precautions, and Social Services. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as CHF, Atrial Fibrillation, chest pain, and post-operative care.

The successful candidate will be expected to manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips as part of their responsibilities.
