This individual will support construction projects that expand or optimize infrastructure for the Starship Program.RESPONSIBILITIES:Work directly with key internal stakeholders to develop and implement a comprehensive contract management process that ensures a successful project execution cycleCreate sourcing strategies for assigned categories to reduce risk and meet targets for the purchasing department, including, but not limited to, payment terms, cash targets, and cost savingsDevelop and maintain key internal stakeholder relationships to create strategic sourcing models that optimize the value of products and services that support business unit requirements to maintain continuous cost reduction programs for controllable expendituresCommunicate, manage, and drive compliance to category strategiesIdentify and execute cost reduction projects, including planning, coordinating with stakeholders, estimating completion, and project updatesPerform advanced quantitative and business process analyses to identify financial impacts of decisions, cost improvement, and performance for assigned categoriesCollaborate with stakeholders to define SLAs and KPIs for suppliers and measure the appropriate criteria, such as: delivery of business results, cost reduction, quality and timeliness of deliveryConduct research, perform benchmarking, and gather market analysis for assigned categoriesCreate contract documents in collaboration with the legal departmentManage contracts to ensure the performance of the supplier to contract obligationsUnderstand interrelationships between contracts and terms while applying creativity and sound business reasoning to interpret application of contract to business needsMaximize value and cost savings benefits while lowering risk through strategic negotiationsIdentify and drive year over year cost optimization through reducing usage and eliminating waste within our operationsEstablish preferred suppliers for assigned categoriesOptimize procurement processes from PO to pay to ensure we are as efficient as possible in our allocation of time and resources to achieve the best possible outcomes for the business in the shortest amount of timeCreate and implement management programs to develop, continuously improve, manage the performance of, and monitor KPIs of the supply basePlace purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices related to assigned categoriesDevelop and lead efforts to reduce number of transactions and for assigned categoriesBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Advanced degree; or bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience working in one or more of the following;EngineeringSupply chainPurchasingContract negotiationMaterial or production planningOperations managementMaterial cost controlMaster production schedulingPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Construction project management experience and/or construction cost estimate experienceFamiliarity or experience in purchasing or similar procurement related experienceExperience in industrial engineering, construction management, and/or facilities managementStrong budget tracking and cost analytical skillsStrong project management and organizational skillsExperience managing large scale industrial and commercial construction projectsStrong contract negotiation and document management skillsRemarkable problem-solving skills with a bias for speedQuick learner and ability to prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needsExcellent customer service skillsEffective written, verbal, and presentation communication skillsExceptional analytical and organizational skillsStrong technical knowledge and skills in current technologies and applications (e.g. MS Office Suite, SQL, PowerBI, etc.)Ability to conduct all activities with the highest degree of integrityDetail-oriented, self-motivated and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environmentADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to travel - up to 20% work week travel may be requiredMust be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to meet major milestonesThis position is based in Cape Canaveral, FL and requires being onsite - remote work not consideredITAR REQUIREMENTS:To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
