Computer Graphics Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain synthetic lunar environments in Unreal Engine 5 for use in simulation, testing, and visualization.
• Generate high-fidelity synthetic images for sensor simulation, autonomy development, and mission rehearsal.
• Support mission operations with visualization tools for planning, training, and real-time displays.
• Collaborate with autonomy engineers to produce synthetic datasets for navigation and perception algorithms testing.
• Work with NASA and partner companies to ensure accuracy of lunar terrain representation and sensor modeling.
• Document processes, standards, and technical approaches for synthetic environment generation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Graphics, Game Design, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of work experience in 3D visualization, VR/AR/XR development, game development, or related fields
• Proficiency in Unreal Engine 5
• Proficiency in Python
• Proficiency in C++
• Familiarity with the 3D art pipeline and tools such as Blender, Maya, or equivalent
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering and software teams.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Requirements: 

• Experience supporting engineering applications with 3D visualizations
• Experience supporting engineering applications with VR/XR development
• Experience using source control such as Git, Perforce, or similar
• Familiarity with sensor modeling (cameras, LiDAR) and digital integration into synthetic environments
• Familiarity with lunar and planetary terrain datasets, and converting geospatial data into 3D representations
