Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position requires expertise in delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced environment while adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe and effective care to patients in the Emergency Room (ER).
- Monitor patient health and administer treatments based on established protocols.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Perform triage and prioritize patient needs during high-volume periods.
- Handle various medical emergencies, including cardiac, neuro, orthopedic, and critical care cases.
- Administer medications and manage IV drips while maintaining accurate records.
- Utilize appropriate monitoring equipment and interpret results as necessary.
- Assist in providing education and support to patients and their families.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Room setting or comparable environment.
- Successful completion of at least one travel contract is required.
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS.
- Preferred certifications: TNCC, ENPC, NRP, NIHSS.
- Experience in an ER that handles STEMI and stroke patients is essential.
Unit Information
- ER unit treating an average of 120 patients daily.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4.
- 50-bed capacity with separate triage and fast track areas.
- In-house security present 24/7 for added safety.
- Access to X-ray and CT imaging equipment directly within the ER.
- Respiratory Therapy available 24/7 with prompt response time.
Scheduling and Requirements
- 12-hour night shifts, with a guarantee of 36 hours per week.
- Self-scheduling available when the schedule is open.
- Weekend requirements include a minimum of 6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks.
- Holidays will be scheduled according to department needs.
- No call or standby requirements.
- Department-specific orientation provided during the first week of the contract.
Dress Code
Scrubs are navy blue.
Work Environment
The selected candidate will work in a busy Emergency Room that prioritizes patient-centered care and teamwork. Comprehensive support staff is present to assist nurses in various duties, enhancing the overall workflow and efficiency within the department.
