Inlet Coastal Resort is seeking a P/T Dietary Aide responsible for assisting the dietary department in providing nutritious, well-prepared meals for residents at the Inlet Coastal Resort Assisted Living and Memory Care Facility. This role ensures that residents receive meals according to their dietary needs and preferences while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. The Dietary Aide will work closely with the kitchen staff, residents, and care teams to support a positive dining experience. 

P/T Schedule: Rotating days 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meal Preparation & Service:
  • Assist in the preparation, portioning, and serving of meals for residents based on dietary needs (e.g., low sodium, diabetic, soft diets).
  • Ensure that all meals are served at the correct temperature and in an appealing manner.
  • Deliver meals to residents' rooms or dining areas in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Set up and clean dining areas before and after meals.
• Resident Dietary Needs:
  • Assist in identifying and recording residents' dietary preferences, restrictions, and special needs.
  • Ensure dietary restrictions are followed for residents with allergies, chronic conditions, or other health concerns.
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to resident needs and preferences during mealtime.
• Kitchen Maintenance & Cleanliness:
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining area, following proper sanitation and safety procedures.
  • Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces after use.
  • Assist with washing dishes, trays, utensils, and other kitchen supplies.
  • Stock and rotate supplies, ensuring inventory levels are maintained and expiration dates are monitored.
• Collaboration with Dietary Staff:
  • Work closely with cooks, chefs, and nutrition staff to ensure proper meal preparation and presentation.
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols in compliance with health regulations.
  • Assist in preparing food and beverages for special events or celebrations within the facility.
• Support for Residents’ Wellbeing:
  • Provide assistance to residents with eating and drinking when needed, ensuring they are comfortable and supported.
  • Communicate with nursing and care staff to report any issues related to residents' dining needs (e.g., refusal to eat, changes in appetite).
• Compliance & Safety:
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding food handling, safety, and sanitation.
  • Report any safety hazards or concerns to management promptly.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Previous experience in a dietary or food service role, especially in a healthcare setting, is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact compassionately with elderly residents.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods during shifts.
• Comfortable working in a kitchen environment, including exposure to heat, cleaning chemicals, and kitchen equipment.

Working Conditions:

• Flexible shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and occasional weekends.
• Work is primarily conducted in the facility’s kitchen and dining areas, with regular interaction with residents and staff.
