Partner 16, Associate, Business Development, Healthcare

Role The Bio+Health Business Development team supports and consults portfolio teams on their go-to-market strategy across market development and business development. The Associate will build commercial and strategic partnership opportunities for the portfolio within our network of executives, privately held companies, and federal agencies. The BD Associate will be a key member of the Bio+Health Business Development team managing day‑to‑day interaction with the portfolio companies, including managing connections with industry partners, tracking interactions, preparing documents, project management, and account management. Responsibilities Assist in the firm’s relationships with corporate partners in Healthcare. Track partnership opportunities and maintain internal systems. Support the coordination of internal projects. Assist in organizing events, roundtables, and industry convenings with partners. Create presentation materials for internal and external audiences. Maintain documentation and dashboards that track partner engagement, meetings, and outcomes. Support the coordination and organization of corporate partner touchpoints. Minimum Qualifications 2–3 years of experience in healthcare, consulting, partnerships, project coordination, or related roles. Self‑starter, strong work ethic, collaborative mindset, and positive attitude. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross‑functionally across operational groups. Experience in consulting, operations, project management, or similar roles where organization and relationship management were important. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and track detailed follow‑ups. Proficiency in Excel / Google Suite and presentation tools. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow‑through. Low ego, high empathy, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams. The anticipated salary range for this role is between $163,000 - $190,000, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope. This role is eligible to participate in the a16z carry program and various discretionary bonus programs, as well as benefit and perquisite plans including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401(k) plan, vacation, and sick leave.
