Sales Manager Trainee

Develop sales staff in prospecting, public speaking skills, closing, product knowledge and pricing, payment terms, closing, electronic contracts as well as sales prospecting. Provide customer service issue resolution guidance. Shadow Sales Director and Sales Managers in business meetings, learning marketing and financials. Responsibilities Achieve monthly revenue goals and conversion ratio. Develop sales staff skills in prospecting, public speaking, closing, product knowledge, pricing, payment terms, and electronic contracts. Establish and communicate expectations with the sales team while building their skills. Review sales contracts to ensure compliance with company processes and regulatory requirements, providing feedback to sales staff. Utilize CRM systems to identify and assign warm leads. Work with marketing and sales management on campaign development, target audience identification, and advertising to increase market share. Develop an annual sales plan for each sales associate, identifying actions that support goal attainment. Identify and implement innovative solutions that improve efficiencies. Support change initiatives, maintaining effectiveness during major changes in work responsibilities or environment, and adjust to new work structures, processes, and cultures. People Development Create a strong, trusting, and reliable team. Understand team members’ career aspirations and assign tasks that develop skills and close gaps. Constructively address issues and provide tangible, appropriate feedback. Apply a proactive and collaborative management style to increase employee engagement and minimize turnover. Screen candidates (internal and external) and hire or promote skilled staff. Assess staff abilities, recommend pay increases, and identify career advancements. Train staff on processes, procedures, and controls. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED. Associate’s degree in a related discipline preferred. Series6 or7 License, current in the operating state, or obtain within six months of employment. Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Qualifications At least four (4) years of sales experience focusing on outside or inside direct sales to consumers with a proven record of exceeding sales goals and conversion ratio. Proficient in using CRM databases and Salesforce.com. Proficient with electronic sales contracts. Experience in the funeral services industry a plus. Leadership qualities and skills. Professional written and verbal communication skills, including influencing and public speaking. Comfortable with in-home sales and group presentations. Ability to work with and communicate with remote stakeholders. Positive attitude, highly self‑motivated, and motivated to continually advance industry and business understanding. Process and results oriented, capable of keeping projects moving by removing obstacles and exploring alternatives. Strong cognitive abilities—including reasoning, planning, problem‑solving, abstract thinking, and quick learning. MS Office Suite skills. Work Conditions Work indoors and/or outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions. Local and/or multiple location travel required. Comply with field dress code policy. Frequent, continuous periods of standing up to 6 hours per day. Sitting continuously for many hours up to 6 hours per day. Climbing stairs to access buildings frequently. Manual dexterity required for paperwork, calculators, computers, and phone usage. Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 20 pounds. Work beyond standard hours as needed. Local travel up to 25%. Compensation Target compensation range: $50,000 to $100,000 annually. The estimated total target compensation in the first year typically ranges from $50,000 to $100,000 annually, based on a strong commission‑based incentive structure. In subsequent years, sales professionals commonly earn $100,000 to $150,000 or more annually. Actual compensation will vary based on individual performance, geographic location, and applicable business conditions. (Note: This position pays no less than $15.00 per hour for all hours worked.)
