The Richmond, VA office of Schnabel Engineering is seeking an Engineering Technician to join our growing practice. We are looking for a motivated candidate with attention to detail, a passion to continue to develop as a professional, and a desire to be part of a strong team. Job Responsibilities: Field observation and testing during placement of construction materials including soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry, and sprayed-on fireproofing Soil and concrete laboratory testing Required Skills/Experience: High School degree Valid Driver’s License Possess good oral, written, communication, and organizational skills Able to perform rudimentary mathematic computations Candidates must be able to lift 50 - 75 pounds on an occasional basis and be physically able to negotiate construction sites, climb ladders and work outside. Construction experience is preferred but not required Other Requirements: Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history and motor vehicle record Ability to pass a pre-employment employment drug screening The compensation range for an Engineering Technician is between $16/hr to $22/hr . Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors.
