Low Voltage Technician - Structured Cabling, Audio/Visual & Security Job Type: Temp-to-Hire Job Location: Greenville / Spartanburg, SC area Job Length: Temp-to-Hire Start Date: Immediate / Based on Project Need Pay Rate: $22-$30/hour, based on experience and qualifications Pay: W2 - Direct Deposit or Check, paid weekly every Friday Position Overview Verigent is currently seeking experienced Level 2 and Level 3 Low Voltage Technicians for multiple commercial projects throughout the Greenville / Spartanburg, SC area. We are hiring technicians in the following specialties: Structured Cabling Technicians Audio/Visual (AV) Technicians Security / Access Control Technicians Candidates should have approximately 3-5 years of commercial experience in their respective specialty and be capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Level 3 technicians and experienced technicians capable of leading crews are encouraged to apply. Pay will generally range from $22-$30/hour , depending on experience, technical qualifications, and role. Structured Cabling Technician Responsibilities may include: Pull, route, terminate, test, and label structured data cabling in commercial environments, including Cat5e/Cat6 and fiber optic systems. Terminate data jacks, patch panels, and related connectivity hardware according to industry standards. Install cable support infrastructure including cable racks, J-hooks, inner duct, ladder racks, and pathway systems. Assist with installation of networking equipment, telecommunications hardware, and rack-mounted components. Perform basic testing, certification, and troubleshooting of installed cabling and associated equipment. Maintain proper cable management, labeling, and documentation. Read and follow project drawings, specifications, and direction from project leadership. Work independently or as part of a crew to meet project schedules and quality standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site. Follow all company safety policies, site security requirements, and applicable low-voltage industry standards. Required Experience: 3-5 years of commercial structured cabling experience. Experience with Cat5e/Cat6 installation and termination. Fiber optic experience is preferred. Experience working independently or leading small crews is a plus. Audio/Visual Technician Responsibilities may include: Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, submittals, specifications, and product manuals. Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot commercial audio/visual systems. Install and support video teleconferencing (VTC), conference room presentation systems, displays, microphones, speakers, and related AV equipment. Work with commercial AV control platforms such as Crestron, Extron, AMX, or Lutron. Route, terminate, and label low-voltage cabling associated with AV systems, including network, control, and signal wiring. Perform system testing, signal verification, and functional checks. Identify and troubleshoot installation or performance issues. Apply knowledge of electronics, signal flow, Ethernet, and network fundamentals as they relate to AV systems. Coordinate work with other trades while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe commercial job site. Respond to service or emergency support calls as directed. Work independently while maintaining project schedules, quality standards, and specifications. Required Experience: 3-5 years of commercial AV installation experience. Experience with Crestron, Extron, AMX, Lutron, or similar control platforms. Experience with conference rooms, VTC systems, displays, speakers, microphones, and AV infrastructure. Working knowledge of electronics, signal flow, Ethernet, and network fundamentals. Ability to troubleshoot commercial AV systems independently. Security / Access Control Technician Responsibilities may include: Install, program, commission, and service commercial electronic security systems. Work with CCTV/video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, card readers, cameras, sensors, and control panels. Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of existing security equipment. Test, troubleshoot, and verify operation of security devices and associated wiring. Mount and secure control panels, field devices, cameras, and related hardware according to manufacturer and site specifications. Commission newly installed systems and confirm proper operation. Provide basic end-user instruction on system operation when required. Run, route, terminate, and label low-voltage wiring, including Cat5e/Cat6 cabling. Install and connect monitors, recording devices, and supporting network components. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site. Work efficiently while maintaining quality workmanship and project timelines. Follow all company safety practices, site security procedures, and applicable industry standards. Required Experience: 3-5 years of commercial security, CCTV, or access control experience. Experience installing, programming, commissioning, or servicing electronic security systems is a plus. Familiarity with low-voltage wiring methods, device mounting, and troubleshooting. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. General Requirements 3-5 years of relevant commercial low-voltage experience . Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision. Strong understanding of low-voltage installation practices and job-site safety. Ability to safely use standard hand and power tools required for installation and service work. Ability to read and follow project drawings, specifications, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer instructions as applicable to the position. Must be dependable and able to maintain project schedules. Must be able to work effectively with project managers, lead technicians, other trades, and customers Required PPE must be worn on all job sites Must comply with company safety policies, site security requirements, and applicable industry standards. Physical Requirements The essential functions of the job may include: Lifting, carrying, adjusting, moving, and/or transporting objects up to 50 pounds. Walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, maintaining balance, and/or crawling for extended periods. Pushing and pulling using arms and legs; use of abdominal and lower back muscles. Coordinating movements of the eyes, hands, fingers, and feet. Ascending and descending stairs, ladders, lifts, and similar equipment. Speaking, hearing, and seeing to identify and avoid safety hazards. Performing strenuous manual labor as required. Working in elevated areas if required by the project. Work Environment The work environment may involve: Indoor and/or outdoor elements. Hot and/or cold temperatures. Uneven terrain and/or obstacles. Interactions with customers, coworkers, contractors, and other trades. Loud noises. Large machinery and construction equipment. Small, enclosed, and/or confined spaces.
