Essential Job Functions: Instructs students in practical HVAC techniques. Provides hands-on training and demonstrations. Assesses student progress and provides constructive feedback. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Hands-on experience in the HVAC industry. Previous teaching, training, mentoring, or workforce development experience preferred. Strong communication and instructional skills. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of residential and commercial equipment. Familiarity with HVAC-related safety standards, OSHA regulations, EPA Section 608 requirements, and industry best practices. Ability to demonstrate proper use of tools, equipment, testing instruments, and diagnostic procedures in a lab environment. Be a registered CIB Mechanical Journeyman. Working Conditions: Frequent walking, standing, and/or sitting and stooping. The environment will be a classroom and/or shop environment. Ability to lift 10-25 lbs. Concentrated visual effort is required. Extensive communication with internal and external customers. This is not an exhaustive list, and reasonable accommodations will be made as needed. Organizational Relationship: Adjunct instructor reports to the Director of Workforce and Economic Development. Not full-time permanent employment. Instructs in approved classes as needed. Schedule: Varies depending on approved course offerings. Classes will be in the evening, 6-9 PM, 2 nights a week.
