Veteran Relations Ambassador

Our client is a locally owned, non-medical in-home care provider serving seniors and adults across North Texas, and an approved provider for Veterans authorized for home care through the VA. On their behalf, we are conducting a search for a Veteran Relations Ambassador to lead outreach, advocacy and relationship building within the North Texas Veteran community. This is not a conventional sales role. It is a relationship, advocacy, navigation and community engagement role. The Ambassador will become the human bridge between our client and the Veteran community, building trust, increasing awareness of available resources, helping Veterans understand where to turn for support, and connecting those who may benefit from care with the care team. What you'll do: Develop authentic relationships with Veterans, Veteran families, Veteran service organizations and community leaders across the service area. Build and maintain an active presence within local Veteran networks, including VFW and American Legion posts, nonprofits, community groups, Veteran focused events and other relevant organizations. Represent the organization at Veteran events, meetings, educational programs and community gatherings. Educate Veterans and families about non-medical home care and how the organization can support Veterans who receive VA authorized care. Serve as a knowledgeable resource and advocate, helping Veterans become more aware of VA programs, healthcare resources and benefits for which they may be eligible. Help Veterans and families understand where to begin within the VA system and connect them with the appropriate VA offices, accredited Veteran Service Officers, Veteran Service Organizations and other qualified resources. Identify opportunities for community partnerships, sponsorships, educational initiatives and other meaningful ways to support the Veteran community. Generate warm introductions to Veterans and families who may benefit from a consultation with the care team, always through a relationship first, no pressure approach. Serve as a voice of the Veteran community internally, helping the organization understand its needs, concerns and opportunities to serve. Collaborate closely with leadership and the business development team to develop and continuously improve Veteran outreach and advocacy strategy. A key part of this role is helping Veterans and their families navigate a system that can feel complex or overwhelming. Many Veterans are unaware of programs or benefits available to them, or are unsure where to begin. The Ambassador should be comfortable identifying potential resources, explaining available pathways in plain language, and making trusted connections to the appropriate VA, VSO or community resource. The role does not include providing legal advice or independently preparing or prosecuting VA benefit claims unless appropriately accredited. The emphasis is on education, navigation, advocacy and connection to qualified resources. Who we're looking for: The strongest candidate will have authentic credibility and established connections within the Veteran community. This may be a Veteran, a military spouse, a Veteran advocate, or someone whose professional and community involvement has created deep, trusted relationships with Veterans. Prior home care experience matters far less than that connection. Actively plugged into Veteran organizations, networks, programs or community activities. Familiarity with the VA healthcare and benefits ecosystem, Veteran Service Organizations, Community Care, or other Veteran focused benefit and support programs. Existing relationships with local Veteran organizations, VA connected resources, VSOs or Veteran advocates are highly valued. Naturally relationship oriented, credible, approachable and comfortable starting conversations. Passionate about serving Veterans and helping families navigate available resources. Self directed and entrepreneurial, able to turn relationships and ideas into meaningful community engagement. Professional, dependable and comfortable representing the organization publicly. Comfortable collaborating with a small, hands on local team while independently managing outreach. Compensation A performance aligned compensation model is being finalized, designed to reward relationship development and sustainable growth of the Veteran client community.
