RN - Trauma Stepdown - Nights - La Jolla

We’re also home to notable specialty programs, including cancer care, heart surgery, orthopedic surgery, labor and delivery services (including a Level III neonatal intensive care unit) and a nationally designated Comprehensive Stroke Center. Position Overview 12‑hour full‑time night shift Nurse – Stepdown Unit (Trauma Stepdown). Eligible for up to $7,000 bonus including retention and relocation. The Stepdown Unit is a 21‑bed unit where you will provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementing care, and evaluating patients’ progress toward expected outcomes. You will work with a multidisciplinary care team focused on restoring function and optimizing care while maintaining respect, autonomy, and individuality of every patient. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care and care coordination on the Stepdown Unit. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient care. Document patient progress and interventions accurately and timely. Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients. Required Qualifications One (1) year of recent RN experience (minimum 6 months in PCU, DOU or Stepdown). California Registered Nurse License. Current American Heart Association BLS & ACLS Certification. English proficiency – ability to read, speak, and follow instructions. Demonstrated positive behaviors and professional demeanor. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. One (1) year of recent RN experience in Trauma and orthopedic care. Incentive Eligibility No incentives for internal candidates. No incentives for rehires that left Scripps less than 3 years ago. Remain in original FTE status and shift (if specified in offer letter). Remain in original department/specialty. Maintain original Job Title. Transfers to other locations reviewed on a case‑by‑case basis and may result in forfeiture of remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in the offer letter.
