Pay: $28.00 per hour, with a $0.50/hour increase every 6 months based on tenure

Schedule: 5 days per week, including weekends depending on assigned shift

We are hiring experienced drivers for an exciting opportunity supporting a leading vehicle software and AI technology company. As a Vehicle Operator – Data Collection, you'll drive test vehicles on designated Bay Area routes, helping collect real-world driving data to improve advanced vehicle technology.

This is a hands-on driving position, not an autonomous vehicle operator role.

You will manually operate vehicles while supporting data collection and testing activities.

If you have experience with Uber, DoorDash, Amazon delivery, Instacart, or similar professional driving roles, this could be a great next step in your career.

What You'll Do

• Drive test vehicles for approximately 4–8 hours per day along assigned routes.
• Follow safe driving practices and all operational procedures.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after driving.
• Operate basic computer software to support data collection.
• Record observations, road conditions, and any unusual vehicle behavior.
• Communicate findings clearly to engineering and operations teams.
• Assist with vehicle movement, maintenance coordination, and general fleet operations.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• At least 1 year of professional driving experience, clearly reflected on your resume. Three or more years preferred.
• Valid U.S. driver's license with at least 3 years of driving history.
• Clean driving record, with no moving violations within the past 12 months and no DUIs.
• Experience driving regularly in real-world traffic conditions.
• Comfortable driving for 4–8 hours daily.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new software.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and safety awareness.
• Ability to work on-site in Sunnyvale, CA, with the flexibility to transition to San Francisco when operations resume there.
• Availability to work one of the listed five-day schedules, including weekends.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to complete required background, driving record, and drug screenings.

Preferred Experience

• Recent professional driving experience with Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Amazon Flex/DSP, Instacart, or similar local driving services.
• Experience in vehicle testing, data collection, or autonomous vehicle operations.
• Experience using computers, technical applications, or basic command-line tools.
• A consistent employment history and demonstrated reliability.

Previous autonomous vehicle experience is not required .

Available Shifts

Morning Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

• Wednesday – Sunday
• Thursday – Monday
• Saturday – Wednesday

Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM

• Tuesday – Saturday
• Wednesday – Sunday
• Thursday – Monday
• Friday – Tuesday
• Saturday – Wednesday
• Sunday – Thursday

Candidates must be able to consistently work one of these schedules.

Compensation & Opportunity

• $28.00 per hour.

Location Information

All employees will initially report to Sunnyvale, California .

Operations in San Francisco are expected to resume in the future, but the date is not yet confirmed. Candidates must be comfortable commuting to Sunnyvale and transitioning to San Francisco for the foreseeable future.

Hiring Process

Qualified candidates will complete an initial screening and driving record review, followed by an approximately 45-minute on-site interview in Sunnyvale that includes a practical driving test.
