Threat Hunting Engineer Lead

Cencora seeks a technical leader to lead threat hunting operations within the Security Operations Center. The role involves proactively investigating cyber threats, researching emerging security risks, and developing detection methodologies to strengthen enterprise security posture.

Responsibilities

• Conduct threat hunting to identify, classify, prioritize, and report cyber threats
• Research emerging security threats and analyze trends in cyber incident activity
• Develop monitoring and detection methodologies for security platforms
• Perform security gap analysis and assess effectiveness of security technologies
• Collaborate on incident response, investigation, and recovery across teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience
• 7+ years cybersecurity experience with 4+ years in incident response, forensics, or threat hunting
• Expertise with SIEM, EDR, SOAR, and threat detection platforms
• Strong understanding of network protocols, OS internals, cloud security, and defensive technologies
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework
• Hands-on scripting or programming experience (Python, Go, PowerShell, or similar)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
