Registered Respiratory Therapist - PM Shifts

This position involves 3 × 12-hour shifts per week, working from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, totaling 36 hours weekly. The schedule includes every other weekend and holiday requirements.

The Registered Respiratory Therapist assesses patients' respiratory care needs and plans, organizes, performs, and evaluates treatment modalities. This role is crucial in ensuring the best possible patient and family experience by optimizing all customer interactions. Experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is preferred.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform and document thorough patient assessments consistently.
• Establish appropriate care plans tailored to each patient.
• Communicate effectively with other healthcare team members.
• Execute routine therapeutic modalities, including aerosolized medications and oxygen therapy.
• Initiate and manage mechanical ventilators in accordance with established protocols.
• Provide age-specific education to patients and families regarding disease management.
• Assist in the transport of mechanically ventilated patients.
• Manage acute airway needs in emergencies.
• Set up and oversee non-invasive monitoring equipment.
• Adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in procedures such as fiberoptic bronchoscopy and invasive monitoring line placements.
• Function as a preceptor for new staff and students during their clinical rotations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program is required.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
