As the shop's go-to CNC Programmer, you'll write and optimize the programs behind Swiss turning and milling work, and be the person machinists turn to for setups, troubleshooting, and prove-outs. This is more than a programming role. You'll have a voice in tooling, fixturing, process improvements, and future equipment investments. Whether you're already a CNC Programmer or an experienced machinist looking to take the next step, you'll have the opportunity to expand your influence, develop your technical expertise, and help shape the future of manufacturing at Elliott Tool.What you'll be doingWrite, maintain, and optimize CNC programs for new and existing parts — Swiss turning, milling, and related processes — using PartMaker and other CAM software.Improve cycle times, tool life, surface finish, and part accuracy on existing programs.Maintain organized, up-to-date program libraries and documentation.Serve as the shop's go-to resource for CNC programming, macros, and advanced techniques.Support machinists with setups, troubleshooting, and prove-outs, and provide daily run support for assigned departments.Recommend tooling and fixturing aligned with programming and process needs.Support continuous improvement efforts focused on efficiency, quality, and throughput, and provide input on capital equipment and machining upgrades.Cross-train Manufacturing Technicians and Manufacturing Engineers to strengthen programming understanding and ensure consistent coverage across the shop.Machines, controls and softwarePrograms run on Haas and Okuma controls, with PartMaker as the primary CAM platform. Machine experience spans Swiss turning, lathe, and mill-turn (lathe with milling) work.What we're looking forRequired3+ years of CNC programming experience or a strong machining background with demonstrated programming capability.Ability to read blueprints, interpret GD&T, and use precision measuring equipment.Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, materials, and quality requirements.Experience troubleshooting setups, improving processes, and solving machining challenges.A hands-on, team-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.Ability to work onsite in Dayton, Ohio. Relocation support is available!PreferredExperience with Swiss turning, lathe, or mill-turn machining.Experience with PartMaker, Mastercam, or similar CAM software.Technical training, apprenticeship, or machining-related education.Pay, benefits and scheduleFull-time, First Shift (7am–4pm or 8am–5pm), with steady 40-hour weeks and the freedom to structure your schedule and make up time as needed.
