ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Chattanooga, TN

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 9
• Patient Ratios: 2:1 and 3:1
• Unit Staffing: All RN staff, including unit secretaries and tech availability
• Type of Equipment: Ventilators, Alaris IV pumps, GE monitors
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: Self-scheduling with manager oversight, including 3-4 weekend shifts per schedule
• Floating Policy: All staff, including Travel RNs, are required to float as needed for critical staffing needs in Med-Surg or ED
• Patient Experience Requirements: AIDET, BSSR (Bedside shift report), Press Ganey goals >75%

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Monitor patient conditions and administer treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient care.
• Assist in various procedures such as intubation, central line insertions, and arterial line insertions.

Qualifications

• Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an ICU setting.
• Essential Skills: Teamwork skills and support for new graduate RNs.
• Advanced Skills: Experience with ventilators, IV drip titration, and arterial line management.
• Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.

Dress Code

Required uniform: Navy Blue Scrubs
