Registered Nurse - Medical Step Down Unit

Schedule

This is a Day 12x4 shift position, with guaranteed hours of 48 per week.

Job Description

We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a Medical Step Down Unit. The unit consists of 6-20 beds and provides care for patients with various conditions, including but not limited to Sepsis, Heart Failure, Hypertensive Emergency, Respiratory Failure, COPD, Chronic Kidney Disease, Type 2 Diabetes, Substance Abuse, Status Epilepticus, and Encephalopathy. The nurse will have a patient ratio of 1 to 4 and may float to all Intermediate Care Units, with 5J and 12A being the most common.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Medical Step Down Unit.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions regularly.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions and treatment plans.
• Float to other Intermediate Care Units as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a similar acute care setting.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
