About the Job: We are actively hiring a Senior Patient Recruitment Specialist to supportour Covina, California site. Shift: Monday-Friday day shift (40 hours per week) Location: Onsite, Covina, CA FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Compensation : $31 to $33 per hour (depending on experience)

PURPOSE:

To effectively conduct phone screening interviews with potential study volunteers and determine their willingness and eligibility to participate based on the applicable study protocol. Details of the procedures required, risks and benefits may also be provided to potential study volunteers as detailed in the applicable approved Informed Consent Document and other approved recruitment materials. To obtain clean, objective, and accurate data while following applicable Flourish SOPs, policies and procedures, federal regulations, medical ethics, Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), International Council of Harmonization (ICH), Institutional Review Board (IRB) requirements, and in compliance with specific sponsor protocol requirements. All responsibilities should be completed in accordance with Flourish Research’s Core Values and Employee Manual.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Read, understand, and communicate expectations around protocol for specified patient visits and procedures. Sit at a workstation for long periods of time, managing a continuous high volume of calls. Is creative and diligent in recruiting qualified study participants into assigned protocols to fulfill enrollment obligations within the sponsor’s timeline while following regulations and rules governing medical ethics, IRB, GCP and ICH guidelines. Ensure that potential study participants are called, screened appropriately, and followed up with expeditiously to provide a timely response. To function as a member of the clinical research team in the recruitment department to help ensure that departmental goals are met across all studies as assigned by the Recruitment Manager. On studies assigned as Lead Recruiter, be involved in all planning meetings (pre-SIV, SIV, trainings, protocol review and follow up meetings) and maintain any campaign portals and associated reporting. Phone screen potential study participants utilizing the applicable inclusion/exclusion criteria as defined by the study protocol recruitment guide (PRG). Enter medical history and demographic information taken from potential study volunteers into a computerized database. Follow-up with all no-shows and update status within CTMS in a timely manner ensuring proper documentation in comments section. Make reminder phone calls for pre-screens and screens scheduled. Be knowledgeable about upcoming studies and communicate thoughts on how to pre-screen, if applicable. Participate in walk-in screenings, open houses, health screenings, expos and other in-person recruitment events, as assigned. Maintain confidentiality of study protocol information and Protected Health Information (PHI). Attend required meetings and training sessions to stay abreast of current and changing federal regulations, study protocols and Flourish policies. Perform all study related duties in a time‑and‑cost effective manner in adherence with Flourish policies. Perform all duties in a safe and prudent manner. Represent Flourish Research in a professional and courteous manner (verbal, written and in appearance) when interacting with Flourish staff, sponsors, contract research organizations (CROs), IRBs, participants, nursing and medical staff members of various clinics, hospitals, and physician’s offices; Flourish Research contract personnel, as well as any other person(s) when carrying out task and responsibilities. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

Work is normally performed in a typical interior clinical/office work environment. Local travel may be required. Ability to sit for an extended amount of time. Ability to work in a call center environment with occasional distractions and noise. Extensive computer use. Ability to properly lift thirty-five pounds and occasionally more than thirty-five pounds. Occasional night and weekend work schedules. Ability to drive and daily availability of an automobile.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Diploma, or equivalent. A college degree preferred; however, it is not required. Experience: 3+ years within the role, 5+ years, related experience (full/partial) within the research industry. Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrates core values & all skills required. Must have experience specifically in patient recruitment, understanding of related guidelines (IRB, FDA, GCP, and HIPAA) preferred but not required. Must have experience with outbound/inbound calling. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communications. Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, be able to work independently and in a team, as well as the ability to stay on task and meet deadlines. Must be professional and have a strong work ethic. Must have excellent customer service and telephone skills. Familiarity with medical terminology. Assists with key initiatives/process improvements in the department. Must have the ability to adapt and take on additional tasks as requested. Assists in developing and implementing process improvements. Seeks out opportunities to help achieve department/company goals. Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements. Fosters relationships across teams. Consistently accomplishes 80% of individual quarterly goals and objectives. Assists with training and mentoring department new hires.
