This role performs advanced machine setup, monitors production quality, and may assist in training junior operators. This job profile is intended for experienced support-level staff that generally works autonomously and only requires closer supervision in non-routine situations.The purpose of this document is to outline the job responsibilities of the CNC Machinist.Working Time:Work hours will be determined by workload, and shift coverage needs. Typically, Day Shift will start at 5:00AM and end at 3:30PMReports To:Production ManagerMachine Lead ManEducation and Experience:Must have experience working with turbo machinery and/or pumpsMust have the required tools to perform their expected tasksMust be able to work overtime when necessaryMust be able to use precision measuring instrumentsGeneral Responsibilities:Observe Company Safety Policy and Procedures; follow and support all STS Safety Policies and ISO ProceduresComplete all documentation pertaining to the work assignmentWork closely and clearly communicate with the other departments, Machine personnel, Supervisor, and Lead ManOperating a machine consists of:Able to lift large, heavy equipment using the crane or spreader bar setup when requiredOperate manual and automatic feeds to 0.0002" as required for final cutsOperate machine to make complex angle cuts and threading where multiple speeds and feeds are requiredComplete assigned jobs start to finish with little or no supervision. This includes the ability to perform the following:Perform intermediate trigonometry to help determine tooling required to machine the part and best matching methodRead blueprints, drawings and sketches that may require intermediate math and problems solving skills to calculate dimensions not specified on printHelp Maintain Equipment, this includes the following:Check/Add oilClean machine after each shiftPlace tooling in correct location and organizeQ.C. all manufactured parts prior to removing them from machineRemain physically active from start of shift to end of shift, including, but is not limited to:SweepingCleaning AreaOrganize toolingOperating MachineOrganize project partsOperate CNC:Determine what tools will be requiredDetermine pre-programmable stepsDetermine manual programming stepsDetermine the best loading position/set up to accommodate the machining requirementsLocate and load all required tools for the Project in the correct tool holderCorrectly program the tools and offsets for each tool in the holderStay attentive while the CNC is runningBe able to quickly shut down or change the program to prevent detrimental damage to the machine, work piece, or personnel safetyCNC - Maintenance:Maintain Oil Levels as requiredClean area as requiredBe on the job site and in your assigned work area at the scheduled timeKeep work area clean and well organized during all phases of the projectHave and maintain ability to use and operate the overhead cranes, torches, grinders and forkliftsMaintain accurate time recordsWhat We Offer You15 days of paid time off and 12 company-paid holidays401k plan with a 6% matchComprehensive health plan including medical, dental, vision, Life, short-term & long-term disabilityHealth savings account matchingMotivating wellness programEmployee Assistance ProgramPaid paternal leaveGym reimbursementSulzer is an equal opportunity employer.
