Patient Service CoordinatorThe Patient Service Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a key role in delivering excellent customer service in a healthcare setting. This position is responsible for scheduling appointments, managing patient records, verifying insurance information, and ensuring smooth communication between patients, providers, and administrative staff.ResponsibilitiesGreet and assist patients in a professional and friendly manner.Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries.Verify patient insurance coverage and collect required documentation.Maintain and update accurate patient records in electronic health record (EHR) systems.Coordinate communication between patients, medical staff, and other departments.Check patients in and out for appointments.Process co-payments, balances, and basic billing inquiries.Ensure compliance with healthcare privacy regulations, including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).Assist with referrals, authorizations, and follow-up appointments.All other duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.Previous experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting preferred.Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare administrative processes is a plus.Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.Essential CharacteristicsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent customer service and patient care skillsOrganizational and multitasking abilitiesAttention to detail and accuracyBasic computer skills and experience with scheduling softwareAbility to maintain confidentiality and professionalismHumanitary Medical Center Inc. complies with all federal, state, and local laws prohibiting employment discrimination of any kind.
