Service TechnicianSupervisor: Transportation DirectorJob Summary: Focus on students, safety, and service while ensuring that school buses are well maintainedEssential Duties/Responsibilities:Performing preventative maintenance according to a pre-determined scheduleInspecting buses multiple times per year to ensure that district buses are maintained to the highest levelAssisting in the preparation of the fleet for the annual State Highway Patrol InspectionChanging oil, filters, filling fluids, and lubricating busesMaintaining service records for district vehiclesBeing responsible for district-owned tools and equipmentAssisting in cleaning the shop as neededSubstitute driving routes as necessaryArriving for work on time according to the assigned scheduleEffectively communicate, verbally and in written form, with administrators, staff, and the community as neededCompleting any and all reasonable duties/responsibilities as delegated/directed by the transportation director.Compensation/Benefits:School district paid, health, vision, dental, and retirement system match, 200 days of 1 hour guaranteed overtime, 60 days of 8 hour days during the summer, paid sick and vacation leavePay: $17- $25 per hour depending upon experienceRequirements:Education:High school diploma/ GED (Required)Possess or able to obtain a valid Commercial Driver License (Minimum of Class B with Air Brake, Passenger, and School Bus Endorsements)Skills:Ability to relate well to students and adults by treating them with dignity and respectProviding professional interactions with parents and community membersAbility to pass an annual physical examination, to lift 50 lbs, and to evacuate the bus in an emergency
