Fall 2026 Philosophy Adjunct Position(s) Adjunct Professor / Adjunct Associate Professor / Adjunct Assistant Professor / Adjunct Instructor Responsibilities PHI 1000: Philosophy of the Human Person – 3 semester hours.Course investigates what it means to be a human person, focusing on freedom, consciousness, cognition, and the significance of life, spirituality, immortality, and dignity.Setup includes an introduction to philosophy and critical thinking. PHI 2200: Ethics – 3 semester hours.Prerequisite: PHI 1000.Topic covers human happiness and how to achieve it, universal and objective morality versus relativism and subjectivism, rational moral judgments, law and conscience, prudence, and the moral virtues. 3000: Metaphysics – 3 semester hours.Prerequisite: PHI 1000.Course articulates ultimate principles of knowing and being; questions include evidence of God, the problem of evil, foundations of human cognition, teleology of nature, and how objective standards of value can be derived.Traditional metaphysical aspirations are examined in contemporary scientific context. Qualifications ABD in Philosophy. Strong background in the history of philosophy. Teaching experience with similar core philosophy courses.
