What you'll do as an Accounting Clerk:

• Generate and distribute invoices for hotel guests, event clients, and other customers.
• Process payments through various methods, including credit cards, wire transfers, and checks, while reconciling customer accounts.
• Issue guest and event refunds while following established documentation and authorization procedures.
• Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue accounts to support timely collections.
• Assist with accounts payable functions, including invoice coding, vendor communication, and payment processing.
• Maintain accurate financial records using accounting systems and Microsoft Excel tracking sheets.
• Assist with daily cash deposits, cash-handling audits, and cash drawer reconciliations as needed.
• Support month-end closing procedures and internal and external audits.
• Communicate professionally with guests, vendors, and internal departments to resolve billing and payment discrepancies.
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Finance.

What you'll bring to the team:

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when entering data and maintaining financial records.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial transaction procedures.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity and professionalism.
• Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable experience preferred.
• Previous hotel or hospitality experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with hospitality billing processes and tax-exempt documentation is a plus.
• Working knowledge of accounting software; experience with Marriott systems is a plus.
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively with the Finance team and other departments.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds, including documents, cash deposits, and office supplies.
• Ability to navigate the hotel property and interact with various departments as needed
