POSITION PURPOSE: Beaufort County School District is accepting applications for a qualified intern to join our team. We provide an internship program that allows individuals to learn the fundamentals of school leadership to candidates earning an advanced degree through a state recognized accredited program. To function as a member of the total educational team and bring specialized knowledge and skills related to school administration and leadership.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• To complete the Intern Preparation Program with all competencies attained.
• To perform assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
• To perform assigned tasks with a high standard of quality and accuracy.
• To perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as the Principal or his/her designee may assign.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal, Chief Officer, Superintendent or other district office administrator as designated by the Superintendent.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's degree in progress
• Valid South Carolina Educator's Professional Certificate at the elementary or secondary level
• Minimum qualifying score(s) on the area examinations required by the State Board of Education
• Verification of three years teaching experience, including at least one year of teaching in grades pre-K-8 for elementary, 7-12 for secondary
• Completion of an advanced program approved by the State Board of Education for the training of elementary or secondary principals and supervisors

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:

• Present a minimum qualifying score on the Praxis, South Carolina's Supervision and Administration Examination, prior to enrolling in an internship.
• Present a Valid South Carolina Teaching Certificate
  • Earn a passing score on the Praxis, South Carolina's Supervision and Administration Examination.
  • Apply to APPLITRACK to register for an internship
  • Meet with Jill McAden to review request for admission to an internship.

EXPERIENCE: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to use the Internet for research applications. Must possess working knowledge of common office equipment, such as fax, copier, calculator, etc.
