Position Overview

Corey Construction is seeking an experienced and highly motivated  Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our Commercial & Multifamily team in Houston, Texas.

The Commercial Roofing Estimator is responsible for reviewing project plans and specifications, completing accurate digital takeoffs, determining project scope, and preparing competitive proposals for commercial and multifamily roofing projects. The ideal candidate has strong commercial roofing knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings, specifications, plans, and related project documents.
• Determine roofing scopes of work based on project specifications, plans, and customer requirements.
• Complete detailed digital takeoffs and ensure all applicable specifications and plan details are accurately captured.
• Prepare comprehensive and competitive customer proposals incorporating project scope and requirements.
• Serve as the initial point of contact during contract negotiations as assigned.
• Accurately estimate commercial roofing systems, including single-ply membranes, standing seam metal roofing, shingles, insulation, and related sheet metal components.
• Identify potential scope gaps, discrepancies, and project risks prior to bid submission.
• Coordinate and communicate with customers and internal team members regarding project requirements and estimates.
• Manage multiple bids, deadlines, and estimating priorities simultaneously.
• Maintain accurate estimating documentation and project information.
• Perform additional related duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of commercial roofing estimating experience, including commercial and reroof projects.
• Proven experience estimating commercial and/or multifamily roofing projects.
• Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems and installation requirements.
• Proficiency with single-ply membrane, standing seam metal, and shingle roofing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications.
• Ability to accurately determine scopes of work from construction documents.
• Experience with estimating software such as The EDGE Estimator (preferred), STACK, PlanSwift, iSqFt, or similar platforms.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and coordination skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively collaborating with a team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and processes in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, accountability, and problem-solving skills.
• Customer service experience is a plus.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
